The Diary of Rachel Leech 1855

About this diary:
This is the diary of Rachel Leech, written from 1st May to 25th December 1855. During this time Rachel had suffered a prolonged period of illness, as a result, the tone of her writing is often melancholy. The diary content mainly refers to the activities of her children and husband. Such activities include excursions by omnibus, train and tram to Buxton, Manchester and Lytham. The diary also refers to political news throughout, including details of the Crimean war. This diary has been transcribed and edited by Lisa Robertson.
